Reviews and Ratings
I was pleasantly surprised by the hotel's proximity to a beautiful Icelandic horse farm, making the rooms feel better than expected. However, being close to the entrance meant hearing other travelers pass by. The service was top-notch with helpful and professional staff who provided valuable information and assistance throughout my stay. The location was ideal for visiting the Jokulsarlon lagoon early morning while the dining experience offered a variety of delicious options. Although the location was a bit confusing initially, the free coffee and tea provided added to the comfort. A good spot if you're on the South Coast journey.
This hotel is a gem in terms of its location and service. The rooms are beautifully set up, clean, modern, and cozy, offering a warm ambiance. The staff goes above and beyond to ensure a welcoming and pleasant stay. While the dining options cater well to specific dietary needs, there could be room for improvement in the variety of choices. Nevertheless, the facilities are top-notch, providing a great value for your money.
The hotel is conveniently located near Jokulsarson glacier lagoon, just a short 10-minute drive away, making it ideal for exploring the stunning natural beauty of the area. The rooms, although not the coziest, were clean, quiet, and relatively spacious, featuring a double bed, a single bed, and a well-maintained attached bathroom with a stand-up shower. The service was exceptional, with staff being exceedingly polite and engaging, offering valuable insights into Icelandic culture and history. The dining options were below average, lacking freshness compared to other properties in Iceland, but the restaurant on-site provided decent meals, albeit at a slightly higher price point. Overall, the hotel offers a convenient location and pleasant service, but dining could be improved.
The hotel's rooms were conveniently close to the entrance, allowing for easy access but leading to noise from other travelers. Although clean, there was a slight urine odor. The separate building location was ideal for morning views but required extra bundling up in winter. Just a 5-minute walk to the restaurant. However, the rooms were too hot at night for a comfortable sleep.
I had a great stay at this hotel! The rooms were spacious and well-equipped, but a bit far from the restaurant. The service was outstanding, with staff sharing fascinating stories about Icelandic culture and history. The location was ideal, close to glaciers and with adorable farm animals around. The dining options were limited, but the continental breakfast was delicious.
I found the hotel to be just like any American chain hotel, a change from the more eclectic places I had stayed in before. The ground-level room meant people could look in if the curtains weren't closed, but on the upside, the rooms were very clean, and the staff was excellent. The location was stunning, especially for viewing the Northern Lights, and the service was very nice and friendly. However, the dining options were a bit disappointing with no pastries or hash browns available.
My stay at the hotel was a mix of positives and negatives. The rooms were incredibly spacious and clean, providing a calm and quiet environment. However, there was an issue with a bad smell in the room due to a small window. The service was top-notch, with staff going out of their way to accommodate us. The location was convenient, being close to the glacial lagoon. The dining experience was varied, offering a good selection. Overall, a pleasant stay with a few minor drawbacks.
The hotel offers beautiful and spacious rooms with a well-equipped kitchen, but there is a strong smoke smell lingering in some areas. The breakfast buffet is extensive with a wide variety of options. The service is attentive and helpful, although there were issues with compensation for unexpected problems. The location is stunning, surrounded by mountains and close to popular attractions. The dining options are satisfactory but limited. Overall, a mixed experience with some standout features.
Staying at this hotel was a pleasant experience. The rooms were located in a separate building, just a 5-minute walk from the restaurant, which was convenient for starting the day but required bundling up in winter. The lobby was exceptionally clean.
